The Lost World (1925)

Wallace Beery

Just because it’s silent doesn’t mean it isn’t worth watching. Wallace Beery stars as the Professor everyone mocks with his tales of dinosaurs. If he could, he would feed fellow scientists and reporters to his allegedly long extinct friends. Eventually, an expedition, including Wallace, his daughter, a reporter and a hunter heads to the Amazon. Considering it’s time, the visuals are great and must have influenced future film makers. Another influence could be when a dinosaur is brought back to London. After all, King Kong dropped by New York in 1933 and Godzilla toured Tokyo in 1954.

Word is that author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle saw it and enjoyed it.

About vintage45

I'm a big fan of vintage books, movies,TV shows and music. I encourage everyone to patronize your local used book/record store and pick up some of the good stuff. My posts are capsule reviews of some favorites that you may want to investigate. The albums posted aren't really reviews but items from my collection that are still available. I try and point out highlights of each one and let the music speak for itself. Thanks to all for checking out the blog.
