Matinee At The Meadowbrook-Elliot Lawrence and his Orchestra (1946)

Ten tracks from this September 7, 1946 live broadcast from the Meadowbrook Ballroom. He directed the house band at WCAU radio in Philadelphia in the 40’s and participated in numerous local TV shows. The band in this broadcast includes furture Jazz greats Red Rodney and Gerry Mulligan.

Highlights include: “Introducing The Maestro”, “Jack! You’re Dead” and “Millionaires Don’t Whistle.”
