The Ellington band was in top form for this soundtrack. Paul Gonsalves, Johnny Hodges, Harry Carney, Russell Procope and Ray Nance have terrific solos and the reach for the stratosphere trumpet of Cat Anderson is an experience.
The 1999 release on CD contains twenty-six tracks.
