Ranch Party (1957)

The Ranch Party Gang

Back in the days when Country was Country & Western. The half hour show was hosted by Tex Ritter and featured the biggest C & W stars of the day. It’s a good chance to experience music that just about isn’t heard any longer except by record collectors.

Typical show: “Blue Suede Shoes”-Carl Perkins…”There He Goes”-Lorrie Collins…”Night Train To Memphis”-Ranch Party Gang… Tex and Smiley Burnette talk about the touring they’ve done and Smiley recounts how many movies he’s been in and then sings his composition “Hominy Grits”…”Hey Good Lookin'”-Wes & Marilyn Tuttle…”Wabash Cannonball”-Mac Wiseman…”Kaw-Liga”-The Collins Kids…”Children And Fools”-Tex Ritter…”Your True Love”-Carl Perkins……Tex closes the show.

Another heavy hitting show with Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline…….The Collins Kids open it with “Let’s Have A Party”…”I Walk The Line”-Johnny Cash…”Blue Tail Fly”-Ranch Party Gang…”I’ve Loved And Lost Again”-Patsy Cline…”Dimples Or The Dumplins”-Les “Carrot Top” Anderson…some hoedown music from Joe Maphis and Fiddlin’ Kate…”Just A Closer Walk With Thee”-Little Dorothy Wright…”Long Gone Daddy”-Bobby Helms…”Young Heart-Lorrie Collins…”Deep In The Heart Of Texas”-Ranch Party Gang….Tex closes the show.

About vintage45

I'm a big fan of vintage books, movies,TV shows and music. I encourage everyone to patronize your local used book/record store and pick up some of the good stuff. My posts are capsule reviews of some favorites that you may want to investigate. The albums posted aren't really reviews but items from my collection that are still available. I try and point out highlights of each one and let the music speak for itself. Thanks to all for checking out the blog.
