Music To Change Her Mind (1956)

Some of the best easy listening albums of the 50’s with standards and the equisite trumpet of Bobby Hackett. The albums slipped in the 60’s as the series covered pop hits of the day. In an interview with Johnny Carson, Gleason said he did conduct the orchestra. He said the albums were aimed at “The guy in Canarsie who didn’t have anything” to  set the atmosphere for female guests. This album was re-released in 2004 with added tracks for a total of twenty-four. If lush is to your taste this is for you.

Highlights include: “It’s The Talk Of The Town”, “You Are My Greatest Love”(From”The Honeymooners”), “Autumn Leaves” and “September Song.”

About vintage45

I'm a big fan of vintage books, movies,TV shows and music. I encourage everyone to patronize your local used book/record store and pick up some of the good stuff. My posts are capsule reviews of some favorites that you may want to investigate. The albums posted aren't really reviews but items from my collection that are still available. I try and point out highlights of each one and let the music speak for itself. Thanks to all for checking out the blog.
