Make Mine Music (1949)

Tony Mottola

Tony Mottola

Fifteen minute show packed with music. Nice people doing nice music. It is fun to see and hear an early electric guitar thanks to Tony Mottola.

This episode features Carol Coleman, the Tommy Mottola Trio and Johnny Thompson. Carol with Tommy on electric guitar, Sid Weiss on bass and Bill Clifton on piano start things off with “Somebody Loves Me.”  Now Johnny Thompson sings “You Walk By.”  Carol comes out and looks admiringly at Johnny as he continues singing.

Tommy and the trio swings “I Would Do Most Anything For You”.  Carol tells Johnny about her background and then sings “I Want To Be A Country Girl.” Now Johnny sings “Powder Your Face With Sunshine.” Then Carol and Johnny sing “Love Is Just Around The Corner.”  Carol and Tony close the show.

Tony Mottola is the cousin of producer Tommy Mottola.

About vintage45

I'm a big fan of vintage books, movies,TV shows and music. I encourage everyone to patronize your local used book/record store and pick up some of the good stuff. My posts are capsule reviews of some favorites that you may want to investigate. The albums posted aren't really reviews but items from my collection that are still available. I try and point out highlights of each one and let the music speak for itself. Thanks to all for checking out the blog.
