The Patti Page Show (1955-58)

Patti Page

Patti Page

Patti had a number of TV shows. Some were fifteen minutes. This one was a half hour. It’s wall to wall Patti and there’s nothing wrong with that. She also has “The Patti Page Oldsmobile Show” and “The Big Record.”

Patti opens with “You Call Everybody Darlin'” as she pretends to bake a cake. A commercial and now she’s back and sings a song I couldn’t identify. She brings out her group The Page Five and they sing “In The Shade Of The Old Apple Tree” acapella. Then the orchestra swings in and they jazz it up. Patti does “On The Sunny Side Of The Street.” Another commercial.

Patti’s back and sings “The Nearness Of You.”  and then “I’ve Heard That Song Before.”  Commercial. She’s back and sings “Tenderly.”  The Page Five are back with “Ac-cent-tchu -ate The Positive.”  Patti returns and does “Memories of You.”  Then she goes into “This Is My Song.”  That leads to Patti saying good night.

About vintage45

I'm a big fan of vintage books, movies,TV shows and music. I encourage everyone to patronize your local used book/record store and pick up some of the good stuff. My posts are capsule reviews of some favorites that you may want to investigate. The albums posted aren't really reviews but items from my collection that are still available. I try and point out highlights of each one and let the music speak for itself. Thanks to all for checking out the blog.
