Shelly Manne & His Men Play Checkmate (1962)

Great Jazz versions of John Williams score for the TV show. Drummer Manne is accompanied by Conte Candoli-Trumpet, Richie Kamuca-Tenor Sax, Russ Freeman-Piano and Chuck Berghofter-Bass. Seven terrific tracks. Highlights include: “Checkmate”, “The Isolated Pawn” and “The Black Night.”
